This presentation was created during the spring of 2025 while I was a teaching assistant for the undergraduate course Physiology of Pain at the University of Maryland. It is a shortened version of material delivered in class, originally organized as a 25-minute presentation. The topic was selected based on a survey I conducted at the beginning of the semester, in which students were asked to vote on specific pain-related topics they wanted to explore further within the scope of the course. The presentation covers existing and novel drug targets for pain management, with the content organized around core physiological mechanisms rather than surface-level drug classifications.
This work demonstrates my ability to synthesize information, structure content logically, and communicate complex material with clarity. It reflects both a solid grounding in physiology—consistent with my academic specialization in Physiology and Neurobiology—and the ability to present scientific concepts in an accessible and organized format.
