Welcome to my ePortfolio, a collection of artifacts that showcase the academic experiences and technical skills I developed while completing my degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Maryland.
The Lab Work section features a report from my Cell Biology and Physiology lab, where I conducted a multi-week investigation using western blotting techniques to analyze protein samples. There I demonstrate hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques and proficiency in formal scientific writing. Next, the TA Presentation section highlights a student-guided lecture I developed and delivered while serving as a teaching assistant for the undergraduate course Physiology of Pain, showing my experience presenting scientific material and my ability to synthesize and organize complex content. In the Technical Instructions section, I present a step-by-step guide for constructing a single-chamber soil microbial fuel cell. This project builds upon prior independent work, demonstrating my ability to write detailed procedures that facilitate reproducibility in collaborative research. The Infographics section adapts the content of my technical instructions to engage two different audiences, revealing my skill in creating targeted communication that is both clear and effective. Last, the Photomicroscopy section displays a curated selection of micrographs, representing a personal hobby I began in 2018. It highlights my proficiency in brightfield microscopy and imaging techniques, as well as a dedication and passion for scientific exploration.
I independently built this website using the Adobe Portfolio platform, embedding content, customizing layout containers and spacing for optimal visibility across devices, adding accessible PDF links, and writing all content descriptions. In doing so, I learned and applied skills beyond my formal training, demonstrating both attention to detail and the ability to adapt to new technologies—qualities essential for conducting research in a continually evolving scientific environment.
Through this collection, I aim to demonstrate my readiness to contribute to research in the biological sciences.
